Accelerated Code.org Workshop
Technology & Innovation in Education (TIE) proudly invites all full-time K-8 school teachers and school support staff to sign up for a free, one-day workshop that will prepare them to teach computer science as an integral part of math, science and ELA. Code.org engages students in problem solving, critical thinking, analyzing and collaboration.
The session provides:
an introduction to computer science
computer science pedagogy
an overview of the online curriculum
teacher dashboard instruction
strategies for teaching “unplugged” hands-on classroom activitiesDiscuss implementation, teaching strategies and equity issues of Computer Science.
All attendees will receive a cool bag full of Code.org swag, a curriculum guide containing course lesson plans, a certificate of completion, classroom supplies for the unplugged activities and 6 CEU Hours toward one CEU Credit!

– two options – K-5 group or Grades 5-8 group.
May 5, 2017 – New Underwood School
May 12, 2017 – Pine Ridge Elementary School
June 6, 2017 – Brookings
